Max Payne 3 is set eight years after the events of the last episode of the series.

The tragic events that robbed him years ago of the person he loved left Max Payne with incurable wounds.

He has retired from the police force and is at the end of his physical strength due to his severe addiction to alcohol and pills.

Hoping to put his painful past behind him, Max accepts a job as a security consultant for the family of wealthy real estate mogul Rodrigo Branco in São Paulo.

Besides Rodrigo, Max's protégés include his two brothers.

Politician Victor and playboy Marcello, the youngest of the brothers, who is into wild parties and Eurotrash - as well as Rodrigo's trophy wife, Fabiana Branco, and Fabiana's sister, Giovanna.

When events spiral out of control, Max finds himself alone on the streets of a strange town.

His desire for justice pushes him into a desperate search for the truth and a fierce struggle to find a way out.
