Sidney Sam is a German former professional footballer who played as a forward or winger. He was known for his explosive speed and dribbling style.

Born to a German mother and a Nigerian father, Sam would have been eligible to play for the Nigerian national team but decided early on to represent the country of his birth. 

He was a German national youth player, playing in Germany's under-19 and under-20 teams. On 29 May 2013, he made his senior international debut with Germany in a friendly against Ecuador in Boca Raton, Florida.
