PS4 The Long Dark (EU)

The Long Dark is a thoughtful exploration and survival experience that challenges solo players to think for themselves as they explore an expansive frozen wilderness in the wake of a geomagnetic disaster.

There are no zombies - just you, the cold, and all the threats Mother Nature can muster. The episodic story mode for The Long Dark, includes four of the five episodes that make up Wintermute.



Episode 1

Bush pilot Will Mackenzie (player character) and Dr. Astrid Greenwood are separated after their plane crashes deep in the Canadian northern wilderness following a mysterious flash of light in the sky.

Struggling to survive while desperately searching for Astrid, Mackenzie stumbles upon the small town of Milton, where she begins to understand the extent of this silent apocalypse.

Episode 2

Mackenzie's search for Astrid takes him deeper into the wild winter wilderness.

A mysterious trapper may be the key to finding Astrid, but can he be trusted?



Episode 3

Following the events of Milton, an enigmatic stranger saves Dr. Astrid Greenwood (player character) from imminent elimination.

Facing the blizzard in Pleasant Valley, Astrid must use all her skills as a doctor to help the survivors she encounters.

Episode 4

A criminal gang of convicts has captured Mackenzie. Desperate to escape one of the darkest corners of Big Bear Island, he must somehow survive his fiercest enemy yet.

Can Mackenzie recover the Hardcase, continue the search for Astrid, and also save the innocents caught in this deadly confrontation?



Characteristics:

- When you are eliminated in Survival mode, your save is deleted. Every decision matters. Four distinct experience modes allow you to find a level of challenge you're comfortable with.
- The game challenges players to think for themselves by giving them the information but never the answers. You have to earn your right to survive.
- Pilgrim Mode is meant to be quiet and thoughtful and Interloper Mode is where only the most seasoned survivors have a chance to last a week.
- If none of the four Experiences suit you, use the Custom Mode settings to tailor your Survival Mode gameplay to your specific tastes.
