One year after the climactic events of Tales of Xillia where the two worlds, Rieze Maxia and Elympios, were united by destroying the barrier that separated the two worlds.

Elympios is a modern nation with a high level of technological advancement achieved through the use of spyrix, while Rieze Maxia is a hitherto isolated land that relies on spiritual arts and nature.



Although the two worlds are working together for peace, there are still many clashes due to cultural differences and it will be some time before true peace is achieved.

Jude, Milla and the cast of Rieze Maxia's original Tales of Xillia now struggle to live their lives and fight for peace in this newly reunited world.



Tales of Xillia 2 centers around Ludger Kresnik, a young man and skilled chef who lives in the town of Trigleph in Elympios with his brother Julius and their cat Rollo.

He strives to follow in his brother's footsteps and work as an agent within the prestigious Spirius Corporation, an illustrious and far-reaching company that develops technology for every field imaginable.



One day, he meets Elle Marta: a young woman traveling alone trying to reunite with her father in the mythical "Land of Canaan" and ends up accompanying her.

His choice to accompany her will send the two on a journey that will change the fate of both worlds forever.



Characteristics:

- The DR-LMBS real-time combat system is improved and expanded with special combat abilities, including the weapon change system and Chromatus transformations.
- Adding to the characters designed by famous Tales of Tales character designers Mutsumi Inomata and Kosuke Fujishima, Daigo Okumura, character designer on previous Tales of titles joins to design Ludger and Elle for Tales of Xillia 2.
