Weimann played for the team in the 2009 Peace Cup against Juventus, Atlante and FC Porto. The forward was a key player for Aston Villa's reserve team.
Especially in the 2009-2010 season, in which he filled the place left vacant by Nathan Delfouneso, finishing the season as the top scorer of the Southern Reserve League with nine goals.
After making a good impression on the reserve team, Weimann signed a contract extension until June 2012.
