LEGO begins to unleash a child's potential from the moment they pick up their first brick.
LEGO is one of the most famous toy brands in the world. The history of LEGO began in a carpentry workshop in Denmark, and the first LEGO toys were made 100% of wood.Ole Kirk Christiansen was a simple carpenter with a lot of ambition. Since he was young, Christiansen turned his love for wood into a business, and in 1916 he described his first workshop. In the beginning, the workshop produced stairs, chairs and ironing boards.
In 1929, when the US stock market crashed and the economy was in the doldrums, Christiansen made the decision to use wood to create cheap goods that would sell faster, including toys.
His love for toys helped him bring his company back to market. As a result of the new beginning, on August 10, 1932, he renamed his company: leg gotd which means "good game", eventually being abbreviated to LEGO.
Despite the ban, Christiansen brought the first plastic injection mold to Denmark, and in 1949 he began to carry out new experiments for his toys. The company ended up making plastic products called "Bricks".
Any LEGO piece made from 1955 onwards can be connected to any other today. LEGO pieces have evolved from simple toys, movie characters, cartoons and more.
