Ace was captain of the Spade Pirates before being recruited into the Whitebeard Pirates and becoming the commander of the 2nd Division.

Ace was a tall, muscular young man with curly black hair. Although they were not related by blood, Ace bore a remarkable resemblance to his adopted brother, Luffy.
