It's no exaggeration to say that Double Dragon helped create an entire subgenre. The collection includes six games.
Without the first game in 1987, the side-scrolling beat 'em up genre as we know it today would not have existed, and the sheer number of games it inspired is staggering.
The Double Dragon Collection takes you on a journey from the early 80s to the last mainline installment, Double Dragon IV, in 2017. Get ready for a brawl!

DOUBLE DRAGON (1988)
Double Dragon was released in arcades in 1987 and ported to the NES the following year. The main difference between the arcade version and the console conversion is that the latter is a single-player game, whereas in the arcade you could play with two players.
DOUBLE DRAGON II: The Revenge (1989)
The sequel to Double Dragon II: The Revenge is not only a true classic, but also the first time multiplayer was included for home formats.
DOUBLE DRAGON III: The Sacred Stones (1991)
The first three games in the Double Dragon series were all released for the NES, forming a trilogy of sorts. All three have an arcade predecessor, but Double Dragon III differs the most from it.

SUPER DOUBLE DRAGON (1992)
Super Double Dragon is not based on any arcade game, but it is a unique game. As it was originally made for the Super NES, it is more advanced than previous installments and includes features such as a lock button and a special indicator.
DOUBLE DRAGON ADVANCE (2003)
Despite being released for a handheld format (specifically the Game Boy Advance), Double Dragon Advance is a true high point in the series.
DOUBLE DRAGON IV (2017)
Double Dragon IV is the latest numbered Double Dragon game and was released 26 years after Double Dragon III. The game is heavily inspired by Double Dragon II: The Revenge and uses the same graphic style.
It's also the first game that original Double Dragon creator Yoshihisa Kishimoto has directed since the 8-bit era.

Features:
- Each game in the collection has four slots for saving game progress, as well as video options for different resolutions, screen sizes, scanline types and background images.
- You can also adjust the volume, quality of sound effects and reverberation levels.
- Double Dragon Advance (2003) is a remake of the first game, but has been expanded with features from several other installments.
- The Hyper Uppercut and The Hyper Knee, for example, are taken from Double Dragon II: The Revenge, while a stage in Chinatown and another stage on top of a moving truck are heavily inspired by Super Double Dragon.
- The reason why Double Dragon II has The Revenge as its subtitle is because the main character Billy's girlfriend, Marian, is destroyed at the beginning of the game.
- There are also a lot of additional modes! Exciting new features fans have been waiting for!
