Set in a starkly dystopian future, as the Earth nears the end of its life, those who remain in overcrowded cities must work to survive as social programs become saturated with an aging population and the rise of environmental diseases.

As technology's intelligence has progressively increased over the years, many jobs for the human race have become redundant, forcing the citizens of Earth to head to the suburbs in search of labor, aided by exoskeletons to improve their efficiency.



The Surge features innovative combat mechanics and an original character progression system based on modular upgrades earned through close and visceral combat.

The world of The Surge offers a very bleak vision of the future, where the evolution of technology, our society, and our relationship with the environment have led to a state of decay of human civilization.
