Will Crowther based his design on the detailed cave maps he and his wife, Patricia, had made of the Bedquilt section of Mammoth Cave in Kentucky.

Shortly thereafter, Don Woods, the author of the code, discovered the game on the ARPANET and expanded the cave.

He added more fun, fantasy, puzzles and an annoying 350 point system.

Years later, Don's expansion became the most accessible and definitive version of Colossal Cave Adventure.

She first played the game in 1979 and was instantly hooked.

He spent weeks playing, taking notes and mapping the cave as it was revealed through the textual descriptions in the game.



Her mind filled with imaginary neon mushrooms, murky underground lakes, a bivalve mollusk, and a conspicuously absent giant.

After getting all 350 points, she was ready for another adventure in a dilemma in 1979.

In 1980 he designed and developed the world's first graphic computer game, Mystery House.

This groundbreaking game is considered one of the most influential in history, establishing conventions that have become standard in the adventure genre.
