In the year 2109, the Monad quantum research facility is attacked by an unknown entity, engulfing the complex in flames and placing it in total isolation.

At that time a mutual aid call is sent to the Garboa Fire Department in San Francisco, California.

The Sturgis Fire Chief answers the call and sends you - Captain Jacob Thomas - and your partner Shane Costa and a crew in a helicopter to the Monad facility.
