Gori Cuddly Carnage - Playstation 5

Get ready for a chaos, color and carnage carousel in Gori: Cuddly Carnage, a hack and slash explosive platform that mixes black humor with rapid action, in an animated but corrupt world.

The players enter the skin (and fur) of Gori, an orange animatronic cat, cute at first sight, but lethal in battle, accompanied by his speaking and exasperating hoverboard, F.R.A.K., in a bizarre and surreal adventure.

Created to be the next big product of a toy company, Gori is abandoned in favor of "fluffy and adorable" unicorns, which quickly turn into a monstrous threat.

The world is already in chaos, and now this blood -thirsty household threatens to destroy it completely.

The crossing of levels is done with a mixture of grinding on the rails, acrobatic running, jumping walls and air combo, giving players a fluid control, but not always precise.



Although visually stylized and rich in absurd humor, the game suffers from room problems, visually uninspired enemies and a system of struggles that, although initially satisfying, becomes repetitive and frustrating in more advanced stages.

The progression system is tied to an in-game store with high prices, which pushes the player to re-leveling the levels to unlock significant upgrades.

Despite this Grindy design, the levels are not varied enough to make the rejuvenations attractive.

Finally, Gori: Cuddly Carnage has moments of brightness in its chaotic and eccentric way, but it is often prevented because of unfinished design decisions, frustrating meetings and a vocal companion that quickly becomes a burden.



Features:

-Pass through the hordes of grotesque enemies in a fighting system based on fast combo, chain attacks and spectacular endings.
-Explores a dystopian society full of evil animated toys, bloody unicorns and bizarre marine creatures, in a neon SCI-Fi aesthetic with black humor and cultural references.
-Each level is sprinkled with satirical details, but the design tends to become redundant, especially in the interior stages.
-Each level includes secondary goals for score, time and combo, but also key segments that unlock the fights with the bosses in regime.
-Upgrades are expensive and related to a store, which forces frequent rejuvenation -unfortunately, without a variety that fully justify it.
- Hoverboard F.R.A.N.K. It offers constant (and often tiring) dialogue, contributing to the personality of the game, but often disturbing the rhythm.
-Although absurd humor attempts can work for some, others will find the general inconsistent and subtle general tone.
