After Princess Peach asks for his help in a treasure hunt, Mario heads to the city of Rogueport.

Of course, Mario isn't the only one hoping to find the Star Crystals, and it's not just Bowser looking to cause trouble this time either.

- During your journey, you'll meet a colorful cast of characters who will happily join you for the ride.
- These allies will not only be able to help you find the Crystal Stars, but they'll also bring their own flair to the journey.



- Each partner has their own unique abilities, such as Goombella that reveals information about enemies or places.
- You can even use these skills in battle to give yourself an edge over your opponents.
- Have you noticed any enemies in your travels? Face them in one-on-one battles in front of an exciting audience.
- You can use all kinds of methods to defeat the opposition, including attacks obtained by equipping special Badges and special moves that channel the power of Crystal Stars.
- Perform attacks by pressing the buttons in time to increase your power, or press the button as you are attacked to reduce the damage taken.
- The better you do, the more the crowd will cheer you on.
