A fierce battle rages in the realm of the Norse gods as the goddess Hel has been banished for defying Odin, the Lord of Asgard.

Angered by her fate, Hel has gathered an army of resurrected Viking warriors to wipe out all of humanity from the mortal realm of Midgard in an attempt to bring about Ragnarok - the apocalyptic battle that will destroy Asgard and the gods themselves.

The task of stopping Hel and protecting the future of humanity falls to Skarin, a promising but deeply flawed young warrior who ignores the true reason for his favors with the gods.
